Weldon Under 11s proceed to next round of Cup
This morning the U11 team had their first victory of the season against Rothwell Town CC. Weldon won the toss and chose to bowl. This proved to be a good decision with captain Tommy Holmes taking two wickets in the first over. This was followed up by some excellent bowling by the rest of the team including Cohen Kerfoot, who took 3 wickets, and Toby Harman. This, coupled with some excellent fielding, meant Rothwell were limited to just 196.
This fine bowling display was then backed up with some confident batting which saw Weldon comfortably reach the target set, scoring a total of 269.
Hopefully we can carry this form on into our next league fixture on 29th May against Barton Seagrave.
Next Sunday, 22nd May, we will be having a training game for any of the current squad and new players who would like to play U11s this year. This is an excellent opportunity for everyone to get some practice in a game situation, especially for those who have not played before. Look forward to seeing you all down there, 9.45am for a 10am start.
